It isn't a direct link to bad parenting, but can be symptomatic of it. That coupled with his very storied and publicly documented over obsession with the 'game' would substantially suggest more tangible derivation of the notion that Saban is a bad parent versus your abstract sensory interaction derivation that he is a good one.
You can't be an obsessive perfectionist in one area of your life, and be truly successful at another.
He chooses 'the game' to throw all his time and energy at. His need to feel important and legacy is sourced through national media and shiny trophies instead of love from his own family.
It's actually sad and pathetic, but not nearly as pathetic as how many people idolize him for it.
