I ditched cable several years back and hooked up a Mythbuntu system. That eventually got torn back apart to build Windows machine, but I really liked it. I have a really old version of XBMC running on my modded original Xbox. I liked Mythbuntu better, but I'm comparing apples to oranges as one program was 12 years old compared to an up-to-date OS.
Anyways, ditch cable. Even if you don't have a media pc, you still won't miss it. Another option is this Asus. Get an external SSD and install you preferred linux distro on it and hook it up to your tv.

Can someone explain the steps needed to ditch cable and watch tv online for someone who knows zero about this subject? Y'all have me interested
