Getting the best deal on an international flight to Hong Kong

Looking to go over there and visit my sister in August, plan on using Sappphire rewards points...
any of you experienced international men of mystery have any tips on eking out the most value from my Chase points?
Dates are very flexible so I can leave/return whenever...

A good bet is to use United Airlines website. (Since you'll probably transfer your Chase UR points into a United Frequent Flier account to book your flight) Their award search tool is pretty good, and picks up their partner airlines pretty well. I am as shocked as you that this is a selling point, but apparently airlines have not figured out 100% how to book their partners using the internet.
It looks like you can fly out of ATL, which may work for you, but be aware of the different routes available to you by Wikipedia-ing Hong Kong Airport and seeing what Star Alliance partners fly into it.
The best way to search isn't ATL - Hong Kong (which may work so try it first), but if you don't like the dates or no availability, you may try something like ATL - SFO, then check SFO-Hong Kong. The search tool has issues sometimes connecting awards throughout each segment, so this helps.
If that's the case, once you confirm each segment has award space, go back and do a multi-destination award search and put in the segments and dates exactly and you should get your award to spit out how you want it. Transfer your points to United at this point, NEVER BEFORE, and then book.
Do you have Chase Sapphire or Chase Sapphire Preferred? Disregard the above if you don't have the Preferred level card.
