Back in the sixties,seventies and before wooden bats were used from little league up by everybody. Now if little leaguers could learn brand up and afford wooden bats. I just don't understand it. As mentioned top quality composites and metals are extremely expensive.

Brand up doesn't stop them breaking. And youth and high school baseball is completely different. Seasons are longer. Pitchers throw harder. Kids and teams play year round. The expensive metal bat is expensive but a good one will last 2 years easily.
