As an LEO is there ever a scenario that you'd have probable cause to think this would be a drug house if you didn't find anything wrong?
I only ask because the DEA in this instance had that exact thought.
quote:
An application for a search warrant for a different Midwest Hydroganics customer, Tomczak noted, stated that police had found no evidence of marijuana plant residue in the trash -- and suggested that was evidence a suspect was covering up his marijuana grow.
To me this is the most outrageous part. It doesn't really matter to DEA if there was or wasn't evidence to support a 2:00 AM visit by their SWAT. It doesn't matter if what they purchased was or wasn't used in making drugs. It doesn't even matter if they thought the people inside were a threat.
What mattered is the DEA wanted to show who's the boss and make sure a message was recieved. If you don't do what we tell you, you will suffer.

SO now lack of evidence is evidence for whatever they want it to be?
Holy shite this country really is falling apart.
This is how i wouldve looked as a judge reading that request for a warrant:

Typical piggy. Here is what I posted an hour ago, thanks for proving me correct:
quote:
Police systematically and routinely violate the rights of 9 out of 10 people and justify it because 1 out of those 10 people are actually criminals who no one really cares about. frick that. The rights of the people should be protected. You do not get to justify your bullshite actions because you eventually caught a criminal. EVERYONE in this country has the same rights and should be protected the same regardless of the ends of those violations.

You do realize it's the defense's lawyer who's spewing all that nonsense, right?

Go make a dog video and cry about it. Just watch out becuase theenemy might shoot you and 40 other dog owners then claim one of them was a dog fight breeder so its cool

And operating under a presumption of innocence, you should agree. Unless of course you disagree with that premise.
Besides that, I have a lot more faith in an attorneys pointing out specific items on search warrant applications than in DEA refusing to comment on outrageous invasions of privacy.
But I am sure there's a good reason for DEA busting down a door with the SWAT team at 2:00am over 8 grams of pot.

And what if they were? That's the problem with cops these days. You believe the end justifies the means. "So what if we terrorize a few innocent people. They're just collateral damage. We took nine grams of pot off the streets."

What would you call kicking in someones door in the middle of the night? I'd think it's terrorizing.

How was she innocent?

That's not even the point you retarded frick.
Please explain to me how you justify all of the salaries paid to the members of the raid team while not even confiscating an ounce of weed. You cant justify it because its fricking ridiculous. They should all be fired for wasting the taxpayers money. There will be coming a time that you guys will held accountable and it cant get here fast enough.

Don't you understand? Its our civic duty to allow the police to do as they please. Its all for our own good after all.

I forgot about the NINE grams of pot.
And I wasn't talking about her, specifically. I was thinking about the multiple families a month who have their homes raided due to erroneous info or the wrong frickin' address.

Has she been convicted?
Also, I could link dozens on stories of SWAT raiding the wrong houses in the middle of the night to terrorize innocent citizens.

try reading

other searches have produced more serious amounts. The largest of these in Will County, he said, yielded 120 marijuana plants, 290,510 grams of cannabis and 178 Ecstasy pills.

I think the point is that the force isn't proportional. Are you going to draw your weapon every time you see someone jaywalking? What about parking illegally? What about when someone gets paid cash instead of a paycheck? Is it illegal? Sure. Did it threaten the public? No. Did it threaten the police officers? No.
No need for the brownshirt tactics here.

My God.... so one bust yielding a large drug stash justifies kicking some lady's door in? On the suspicion of pot, brought about by an innocent purchase? I'm sure you often wonder why people don't respect law enforcement.

I love how he refers to it in grams, to make it sound impressive.
