Netflix and others show network error but device is connected to the internet.

Artifacts of the Netflix/Comcast war, maybe? We have been having trouble since February.

Bought my Samsung blueray to stream Amazin and only worked well for about a week. Has buffered and stopped ever since.

Wired? Wireless? If wireless I have no sympathy.

It shows it's connected and everything else is working (laptop, iPod etc.)

Wireless of course
Step 1) turn router off and back on. Then turn bluray off and back on
Step 1.1) move router closer or run a wire
Step 1.2) life lesson- integrated "smart" apps outside of dedicated streaming devices have been ill-designed in my experience, but they rarely function (nuts and bolts) particularly poorly. Your problem is almost certainly an old router being overworked. Still using wireless g? Notice the problem is better/worse when other devices are connected? Update the firmware on the Blu ray?
I'm tired and going to sleep, but I will come back and check this thread tomorrow at some point. Though it may seem like a stream of conscious up above this line, if you do all those things, one of them should work.
But seriously, if you're running wireless g, buy a long Ethernet cable and a drill or PVC to hide the cable run. It will do wonders for you.

Yep. The processers in the blue rays are now too slow. Mine became so slow it was useless.
Switched to a roku. 99 bucks and works unbelievably well.
You'll have to do same.

Go Wireless N and set QOS to prioritize streaming media.

Get an Oppo player--they are fantastic for the money.
The 103 is $500 and the 105 is $1100.
