Dont worry. Our fanbase will come up with a reason. We are full of excuses.

But I thought we had the most knowledgeable and the best baseball fanbase in the country.

Honestly, I have never been impressed with out streak of "attendance leader titles". Who cares how many tickets you sell. Tell me how many fans are actually there. I am sure we rank high there, too, but still...quit telling me that there were 11,000 tickets sold. Who cares.

The average Joe finds the new style of play pretty boring

I think you nailed it. Baseball at LSU makes money. Not many other baseball programs do. What the NCAA gets in revenue I think is a dot in the ocean compared to football. So what they do, they downsize the bat and the game and call it protecting the player. Its not exciting watching fly balls caught 50 feet from the fence. But if they play any game at LSU you have to pull for the Tigers no matter how boring, just not at the game.

My tickets are always being used.

But LSU isn't going to tell me to be there (or not).

Tickets are going unused because the fatcats can't resell them on the marketplace and the ushers won't allow SRO to move into those seats.

Plus, Jazz Fest, Strawberry Festival, French Qtr Fest - it's festival season.

Traffic leaving the box.

The LSU baseball fanbase is built on those who got season tickets just to be able to buy regional tickets.
