They aren't all AWD. X5 has a RWD model. CR-V has the same option

I guess you're entitled to your opinion, but there is nothing similar about these two vehicles except somewhat similar dimensions.

CRVs are front wheel drive. And I've never heard of a rwd x5. The X is for awd, as in a 335xi is awd, a 335i isn't.

My wife had a 2011 CRV with leather for two years, my dad is on his 4th or 5th X5. I believe you can get a CRV with a V6, but the I6 in the X5 is a lot peppier. The BMW drives and handles much better than the CRV IMO.
My wife's CRV was very nice indeed, but it drove like poo.
