Lots of drilling on the roof, if you get a roof install. I recommend it. It's cheaper, and stronger.

In south la, you need hurricane resistant stuff. You'll either have to anchor hard to the frame of your house (dozens of lag bolts into your rafters, through the shingles) or thousands of pounds of concrete underground to keep your ground rack firm.

Personally, I'd never trust anyone to do this that wasn't experienced, insured, licensed (duh) but most importantly local and established.

Let an out of town rebate chaser install it for $50 cheaper and you'll regret it

Is there no way to take the panels down during hurricane season. How long would it take to take the panels down to avoid damage if you knew a hurricane could be hitting within a week?

Is this something you could do yourself, or would you need a professional to come out and take them down?
