It just looks that way because the fishing boats are so small. The Bearing Sea doesn't get those massive troughs so widely spaced apart quite like the North Atlantic. I think the average depths of the Bearing Sean and North Atlantic are 5,000 ft and 15,000 ft respectively. I've sailed both of 'em.
