I have read, but not confirmed that some OEMs specifically say foot to trailer. Bass Cat being one of them.

there is only one way to take the weight off the transom .from motor to trailer .i cant believe anyone would buy something that merely locks the motor to itself.it is still beating the hell out of the transom when going down the road. preschooler could figure that out .
