I hear ya bud. I'm only basing my knowledge on years of towing boats, owning boats, racing boats, building boats, and repairing boats. Spent years on the road helping out APBA hydroplane and outboard race teams along with OBDA teams. Spent 3 years working for Titan Powerboats repairing boats and motors along with build their 22' modified tunnel hull.

I've seen both work and either is better than none. But, I've also seen the wedge cost people money. Replacing transoms is a pain in the arse and not cheap.
