I remember when BPS was 99% mail order.

I still have several Bagley Balsa B's that I ordered in the mid-70's when BPS was strictly mail order. BPS' origins were in Johnny Morris' dad's liqour store.

Biff – you are rt on the money it was a novelty to go to BPS now it’s a chore. I really dislike being pushed red head and other BPS gear that is no where near the quality of Columbia, browning, filson, shimano, allstar, etc at prices that are as much or more than the name brands. In ONT, BPS prices are 10-20% more than sporting good stores so unless I really need to see their big a** aquarium, a plane hanging from the roof, or a photoshopped Tony Stewart head on a skinny body I don’t go there any more. There is a gander mtn and a couple CDN chain outdoor stores nearby that I use that are much better. As far as BP catalogues, I remember liking them better than Victoria secret catalogs but now BPS and Cabelas immediately go into recycling
