Been twice this Spring so far and have caught zero. Went yesterday and got blown around in the wind with no bites. Hit on 2 girls in kayaks that turned out to be be lesbians.
Freshwater still tool cold, murky this early in the Spring? Don't the fish have to eat something?

Wish I fished enough to know what a "slump" is, I just fish and dont catch anything except motor fish. Im pretty good at catching those.

I've been fishing for three weeks and caught maybe 6 decent fish. Then I caught the Red River on the fall last week and bust'em......

Red River around Marksville La, silver Rat-l-Trap...off the rocks while the river was falling....caught that in about 45mins....

At least you've been able to go out twice...

I've never fished the red river... was thinking about putting in below the Overton dam and try some of the oxbows further south.

If you come to The Red River around Marksville, there three great launches.....Poland, Ben Ruth, and Broulliette....lots of rocks and deep drops when they stage up. Best fished when the river is dropping. Lots of oxbows within a 5 to 8 mile hump.

Poland is the launch site I'm talking about... I guess I will have to pay attention to levels... not use to the whole river system...

How close do you like to Marksville? Just watch the river stages for Poland and catch it on the fall. From now till about end of June wont be that good to do the North melt coming. But after that its on!
