Overall the number of slaveowning families was around 30%(slightly higher in the Deep South than Upper South).

Mississippi slave households were at 49% in 1860 & South Carolina were at about 46%(I think slaves were even a slight majority in these states).

Wasn't' implying many states were near 50% ,but google those 2. Linking articles for me is a b.....!

I am glad you can see through that 98% bs. Most young fighting age men own nothing.
