Not sure of the ownership, but it appears they do not receive any kind of a property tax collection that would be available through a hospital district.

Bankruptcy could have happened for a variety of reasons, but some of the more rural hospitals that are heavily dependant upon govt reimbursements are going to be increasingly difficult to operate. Costs are still sky high (pre or post obamacare) and rural hospitals often don't have the population needed to supply the necessary volume.

Natchez RMC shouldn't have that problem though. Enough population around Natchez. I'm not aware of other factors such as competition around Natchez, but hospital administation as a whole is something I would want no part of.
