What does that have to do with some idiot saying that capitalism is the most moral economic system on earth? And if you don't believe that capitalism produces massive inequality, unbridled greed, corporatism, war, waste, and pollution, then you're an idiot too.
Those aren't products of an economic system they are products of human nature.

Capitalism doesn't produce inequality - inequality exists regardless of the economic system - its just a fact of life
Exactly. These anti-capitalist idiots don't seem to realize inequality is naturally occuring. People are well...born that way.

If you sit on your arse and make poor choices it will leave you behind, that is capitalism. Gives you incentive to work hard and learn as you move through life and become successful.
Also allows you to provide for your family and lay down a foundation for your family and future generations. Ya know that'swhy most iimmigrants came here, to give ones family more than what they had. Also allows you to give to those less fortunate, and man that feels awesome. I love capitalism, it's the reason I was up a 430 this morning.

So I feel about capitalism
I posit that a big problem is people acting on "feelings" rather than thoughts.
Just my thoughts on your feelings

Capitalism is nothing more than producing more than you consume, saving the surplus until you chose to deploy it in a more productive manner. It's often blamed for the undesired effects of policies aimed at it's elimination.

Much bullshite exists in this thread. Capitalism is a fine economic system that values initiative and allows for almost unlimited growth and class mobility. Laissez Faire Capitalism which some of you think of as great though is an unmitigated disaster. Do anti-government types really want to return to 19th Century Government. Check your history before you speak. Greed is not good for an economy or business. Sorry Jordan Gecko was an idiotic character. Much of our current problem arises from the Greed of the uber rich and business deciding to take short term profits over the long term approach. Socialism is not a bad word and a combination of Capitalism and Socialism is probably best.

The worst greed of all is Government greed. If men can not plan their own economic path (which you just said is an unmitigated disaster your words) then how can they possibly plan the economic path of others? Especially when political incentive comes to play.

Regulation always attempts to create a system that will prevent corruption, yet always ultimately enables it. Every time there is a Madoff, the state clamors for more control. Apparently, Utopia is regulatory capture for the 1% and prison for everyone else...but at least we are cared for.

Just mirror's and smoke. Who writes the Regulations? The Criminals.

Centralized power is the problem. It will always be much cheaper to corrupt.

Capitalism didn't "produce" these things. Human nature did.

Now that is funny, child labor, unsafe working conditions, six or seven day work weeks, hell yeah lets head back to that.

Capitalism is a horrible economic system.... but all the others are worse.
Genius I tell you!!!

Do you even income inequality, bro?
Moreover, there are nations with VERY smooth income distributions. No thanks!!!

Did Government greed move jobs overseas to increase profit margin? Does Government greed put unsafe vehicles on the road to save a buck (GM, Toyota, Ford). Did Government greed put 8 year olds into Coal Mines to work in the past. No what is sad is that so many anti-Government hacks look solely at the negative or bad that governments do. Society is on a balance, freedom and safety. A truly just society is balanced between those things. I hate many aspects of what the US Government has become today. The US became a truly great nation in the 20th century. I would argue that the economy of the 50's and 60's were pretty damn great. Those decades where the US became the most dominate economy the world has ever seen was not in an era of no government involvement.

You are a joke. We were a powerhouse in the 1950s and 1960s because we were the only economic power that came out of the 2nd World War largely intact.

We haven't had any laissez faire capitalism. Our economy is more regulated now than at any other time in our history.
