First-you are a great poster and I love you man. Let me get that out of the way. I'm on your side bro. This is NOT personal.
Getting stoned on a daily basis is indicative of much larger personal issues and addictive problems. Just like the guy who has the DAILY beer/wine after work. You need to be asking yourself why you want to get stoned every day for 20 years.
Marijuana has obvious effects on motivation and clarity. It's a major reason why your employer prohibits you from using it, and why we teach our kids there are better things to do with their time.
Look all this just demonstrates my point- recreational Stoners can get stoned all they want, but let's not pretend that when used correctly that it is anything other than what it is, a mildly hedonistic vice. It doesn't contribute anything of real value to a society, even if it is an expression of personal freedom.

The older you get, the less you smoke and actually the less you need to get buzzed. These days, I can smoke on one joint for 3 or 4 days.

It's all good I don't take it personal. I don't consider myself a pothead. I'm a person a uses pot but it's not how I identify.

Because it feels good and I enjoy it, simple as that. Actually the 20 years thing is not really accurate, I was completely sober for 5 years from age 18-23. I went back to smoking cause I came to realize that my life was no better or worse being sober so why not enjoy myself.

Well I don't smoke on the job it's something I do away from work on my own time in the comfort of my own home. I also don't have kids.

Why does it have to contribute something to society? What does people getting amped up on coffee in the morning or coke during the day contribute to society? I always found caffeine to be far more addictive.
