The fact that Tanner is ahead of him on the depth chart shows that you may never know.

But I actually like Tanner.
Could be the next Lance Moore.

Well, I like local players.

Right now I would draft BPA from the group of Cs, LBs, and WRs.

Depth for the most part is very good, and that's key. Atlanta's depth was poor last year, and that was the difference between a 13-3 season and 4-12.

I'm not trying to discredit anything you're saying, HooDoo.
Simply laughing because I don't believe so. It's just my opinion and hopefully I'm wrong.

WR - Need 2 more good options
C - Need to draft 1 to push Lelito
OG - Need 1 for depth
OT - Need 1 for depth
NT - Need 1 to replace Bunkley
OLB- Need a fast cover guy
ILB- Could use 1 for depth
CB - Need a legit #2
That's 9 total needs imo...with only WR, C, OLB that can cover, & CB that are absolute needs. We are in pretty good shape right now. Not to mention...we always find a gem or 2 from the UDFA's.

You list them as needs, but most of those aren't true needs. Those are mostly wants.
Center is really the only need unless you think 3 legit WRs are necessary and White and/or PRob have no shot at becoming legit #2 CBs.
Cover LB is borderline because we don't use more than 2 LBs for the majority of the snaps and with Humber and Haralson back I think the could be adequate there, though I definitely want a true cover LB and have it as my personal #2 draft target behind center(and that's only given the fact we have zero true centers and only 1 guy that played some in preseason).
If you take the fact the we are extremely likely to draft a center, another C/G backup beyond that is unnecessary(though I'd like a good one to replace Grubbs next year) as we only carry 4 guys between C/G.
OT depth in general is not a need, but a legit LT backup would be nice. We have 4 RTs.
If we do keep Bunkley we don't need to draft a DT/NT, but I'd like us to do so.
WR you could say we should get one to replace Colston next year and get a legit 3rd target this year.
And I think the OLB/ILB split is useless in Ryan's scheme. We usually run with 2 LBs so it's the type that's important.
Not saying I disagree with you though, just explaining why I don't see most of that as needs. I agree that those are the spots we should be looking at.

I inputted what we had into this depth chart generator. Bailey said he's going to be given a shot at starting CB, so I put him starting opposite Lewis.

Updated with contract info to make looking forward easier.
Still missing numbers on Bailey.
Looking at offense, only McCown, Ingram(5th year option), and Morgan are UFAs. It's possible Graham will be too, but more than likely he gets a long term deal(or gets tagged again if worse comes to worse). Not bad at all.
Defense has more flux with Jordan(5th year option), Dawson, Butler, Haralson, Humber, and Robinson all being UFAs, and Galette possibly being a pseudo RFA where we match another team's offer or get no compensation.
Special Teams has S. Graham as an UFA.
Overall we aren't looking bad heading in to next year with $14.85m in cap space(given a $140m cap), minus Bailey, a potential Graham contract, the rookies(mostly 1st and 2nd rounders as the rest will barely make a dent), and any significant FA moves we may make this year(unlikely).
Depending on structure, we should be just below the cap which is a much different place than we've been the last few years. Add in a Brees extension and we could have tons of room.

Updated with Bailey's numbers. Still waiting on Bush's and nothing has come out saying Bunkley's future numbers have changed.

Updated with Bush's numbers and Meachem. Hope to add Goodwin soon.

About to update the rookies.
Posted on 5/11/14 at 9:45 am to bonethug0108
Alright I added all the rookies we drafted and from the first post in the UDFA thread. If I'm missing anyone let me know.
Also, I tried to project as best I could where these guys will be tried out at(though some can reasonable play 2 or 3 positions). Some are from what I read from Payton while others are what I gathered from summaries, size, and position projections.
If you've read differently or see a guy playing elsewhere let me know.
