Location is key. The farther you are from a tower the bigger/better antenna you need. If you don't already know where the towers are you should check here before you buy.

She is in Southdowns and gets stations from Ascension, Denham, and Port Allen IIRC. For the further ones, she has to take out the ring antenna for some reason, but they still come in clearly
