Clear Springs, Homochitto Forest. Playground/ swimming, many miles of hiking/biking trails, both primitive and hookup sites. Be careful walking the trails after mississippi turkey season starts (March 15th). Public hunting brings out the worst kind of hunter.

I stumbled upon this place while returning from a weekend in Natchez. I like the swimming area, but I'm kinda skittish because the water is the ideal environment for the amoeba that eats your brain.

that fricking sucks. I take my nephews out there quite a bit living only 35min away. Never heard of anyone getting their brain ett. However after the first week of July we don't like to swim do to the algae in the water, but that was just because its nasty and we don't want an ear infection.
