What do you think Obama could have done to prevent this? I keep hearing people say that Obama should have been tougher, but how would this toughness have manifested itself in a way that Putin wouldn't have invaded Ukraine?

Missiles in Poland may have helped.

Really? Russia would seriously be threatened that we might fire on them? Not even Cheney would be dumb enough to fire a missile on Russia over this shite.

As with any international conflict, US should stay out of it until we are directly threatened with force. It's not our job to protect the Ukraine or to tell Putin to take his toys and go home. Putin is the big bully on his block, but when it comes to the city everyone knows US runs shite. Just because Putin is giving Ukraine a wedgie doesn't mean we should be flocking to message boards talking about how powerful Putin is and how weak we are.

The only reason the majority of you even care bc it's just another manufactured talking point against your nemesis.

Maybe, but then the nuclear weapons we keep in Turkey (which is closer to the area of concern) didn't seem to have any influence. Why would having any in Poland make a difference?
