IMO one should have the right and privilege to carry concealed without the govt mandated "class" and fees, but that's probably just me taking for granted that I have good working knowledge of how to operate, shoot, and defend myself through different defensive training and hours of practice.

FWIW, MS doesn't mandate a class to apply for a permit (just for the enhanced carry).
