Can someone explain to me why everyone is saying the score was 4-1? Looking at the box score it looks like ULL scored in the top of the sixth which is when the game was called off. The game should revert back to the last completed inning and should have been 3-1. Obviously, it doesn't matter, we lost, but I'm just curious what the thought process behind that is.

Mainieri had to have offered the run.
Mainieri hates Kramer

Been wondering that myself. One team gets an extra inning, not how it works.

Once it gets reported one time, everyone will just run the reported score.

You know, sometimes the home team doesn't play a full 9 innings? Yep, and still, whatever runs the visiting team scored in the top half on the inning are counted.

Convention is weird.

It didn't revert back to the previous inning because there was no lead change.

It should be 3-1 since the final was a 5 inning game.
