I have a stack of broken 360's because I don't speak Indonesian.

I have high capacity hdds from the og 360.

It's normal to expect to be able to continue to use parts for the console I bought it for in the same gen. Just as someone wouldn't expect to buy a different shaped cart for a n64 back in the day.

It's just a really shady business model. In the end I should have done my homework but this is unprecedented in consoles to my knowledge.

You know you can just take the hard drive out of the the original xbox 360 casing and stick it in the new one. It works, just loose and ghetto-rigged of course

Xbox does a great job of fixing these for you. I've sent two in. It is an extremely easy process.

Not really. Technology improves over 7 years.
