Street/casual food is definitely the way to go

Yep.

Was in Bangkok last sumnmer. Go see a Muy Thai match (the crappy one where locals go). You can get a ringside seat for $40 which comes with 2 drink coupons. Rent a boat to take you around the canals to see the areas of Bangkok you don't see in movies or in magazines. Lots of beautiful temples to see if you have time. You will want to stay along Sukhumvit Road, around Soi 15.... it is centrally located for a tons of cool bars and shite to see/do. Chatuchak Weekend Market is a must-see, but beware...it is fricking huge. Wanna buy a hat, a motorcycle, a pet monkey? No problem.

<--- @ gmail.com if you have any questions I can answer.

Bangkok pics:

These little vans are everywhere, all lined up. Grab a drink and chill outside.

And lastly, avoid this stupid count on Soi 15, got food poisoning from her and was spewing out both ends for hours. Don't let the cute smirk on her face fool you, I wouldn't piss in her mouth if she was dying of thirst.

Have fun!

I'm pricing flights now. Got to get back. Including Vietnam this time. South East Asia is a magical place.

Thank you for the amazing photos! It's making me even more excited. Our hotel in Bangkok is on Soi 4...close to Soi Cowboy.
