I was under the impression the ball was dead and the runners advance. Compare to a wild throw from the 2B that goes in the dugout. Error on 2B. Runners get a base.

yeah, but it didn't go into the dugout.. i was looking for some kind of interference ruling.

No, I don't think they ruled it the same way as that. It was more along the lines of an OF catching a ball, thinking it is the third out when it's really the second out and flipping it in the stands. That ball is live. Not sure exactly what moment the play officially came to an end, but the coach just kind of walked towards home plate with the ball still in his hand.
