The girl may not have been innocent and I don't condone stealing, but what he did was pompous and honestly really fricking annoying.

Putting an item into your purse canNOT get you arrested even if the man was a police officer on duty. You have not stolen until you've left the store. This is why loss prevention does not accuse you of "stealing" when they approach people in the store. They simply say "Oh, this shirt would look good with those shoes you just put in your purse". This guy yelled at her that she was stealing, filmed her, and acted like an arse. Unfortunately, this girl clearly didn't know her rights in this situation and she was scared into giving him her info when she did not have to.

I hope she never steals again, but this dude sucks.
