LSU has no problems recruiting in the Nola area. Especially the Kenner/Metairie/Laplace/River Ridge areas. I

Old school coaches in nela/Monroe had that area pretty well locked in to LSU. The guys Saban had play for him from Ruston and Monroe area all came high school having played for some old, hardass coach. That philosophy easily transitioned over to college, the school everyone loved. Like mentioned, many of these old school coaches think miles is an idiot and still strongly favor Saban. Hell, many of these kids would die for their high school football coach. He's their leader not their friend. Honestly, I think it's j a matter of philosophy. Wait and see when Don Showels(sp?), bastrop coach, etc become a dismal part of the football program is ran. New coaches give miles a new opportunity to rebuild relationships.

That makes sense to me... unfortunate if that is the case. Maybe we do get a lot of players from NELA, but the top talent from that area, at least as of recent, seems to favor Bama.

LSU has become a national draw team. We can pick most instate recruits we need, we do lose a couple every year for various reasons. As we draw nationally fewer openings are available for Louisiana recruits , thus some areas may not get the attention as much as they use to. If the talent is there we'll be there.
