First, kids need to understand that for one animal to eat another has to die. No matter what they feed that lion there's a good chance someone had named it before. We spend so much energy shielding kids from life in this country.

They do things like that to keep the lions on their toes. I watched a show where the zookeepers tied a dead goat to a raft and tied the raft down about 30 yards out in a pond.
The tiger smelled it and immediately jumped in the pond and drug the goat plus the raft to shore. It was an impressive display of power.

Why didn't they just let the giraffe loose in the lion area....that would have been interesting to watch.
