I don't say it that way when referring to the city, but I do say it that way when I refer to my street, Orleans St. Does this make me a douche?

I believe you are correct in pronunciation, but you may still be a douche for living on Orleans St.

Nah, I'm saying picture a tourist saying "New OrLEENS" and a local telling them, "We usually say it as NewOrlins. You've never heard it exaggerated as N'awlins?" And the rest of the trip the tourist hams it up and says N'awlins.
