No, you don't wait for him to countdown and you don't talk about it. If you cant get away you, you ball up and hit him as hard as you can. Then you try to hit another while the rest are looking at the first one. Maybe you can run away in the confusion but most likely the others are going to whip your arse. Also don't pull any weapon that you don't want taken away from you and used against you.

Im a huge advocate of bear mace. Requires very little training, collateral damage risk is low and is extremely effective against small groups. if you make a mistake it isnt lethal. I carry that over a firearm in most domestic situations
