How do you drift for that long and end up where he did without once getting near land or a boat or something? Just doesn't make any sense.
ETA: There's pefectly good land to walk on to where he wanted to go. This guy's an idiot.

Dude got caught up in the equatorial current and there really isn't much out there in the Pacific Ocean. Not hard to miss an island. My guess is they were going to the country illegally.

Yep, a lot of sailboats make the trip from Mexico/Central America to the Pacific Islands in the spring every year
