IIRC, I pulled trigger on fire, nothing. Checked to make sure safety was off, saw that it was, and pushed it forward as hard as I could and nothing happened. Made sure the bolt was closed and still nothing. I touched the trigger (not pulling, just lightly placed my finger on it to find it) and it went off. I cleaned the mech real good and it seemed to dry fire fine. Then I ran some rounds through it this weekend and had issues ejecting. Time for a new rifle

I later had similar butt slightly different issues ( light striking bullet). Had work done and wasn't satisfied with the way the safety felt so had all new parts put in. Fired 14 rounds through gun and 2 bucks killed with it this year with no issue except for poor bullet performance ( not guns fault)

Not sure how old mine is. Been through two other guys that my dad works with ( they said it kicked to hard) before my dad bought it. I traded a Remington 710 and 200 dollars for it with my dad. ( Got 710 back after I told him he fricked me over giving me a death trap for a gun)0
