IF you take the extra point out, that changes nothing of what you said. not even one bit. The EP is already viewed as automatic, so how could it change?
But look at it this way. NBA players are better shooters than college players are. Check out the 3-point lines. Nothing wrong with doing something similar with NFL kickers. They kick better--no problem making it more of a challenge.
