Actually what it would do is spread the talent around more because a lot of the players you get now that get immediate playing time and a ticket to the NFL after two years wouldn't get that opportunity because there would be seniors ahead of them that were just as talented and more experienced.

I take it that you missed the "just as talented with more experienced" part of my comment you quoted.
Consider how many great players you would have if they stayed for 4-5 years and how many of your very good young players wouldn't see the field until they were juniors and seniors. Those players would probably go elsewhere where they could beat out less talented upperclassmen and get to play.
