At some point, a job may require a thorough background check and they may call all previous employers. Do you right thing and give a 2 weeks notice.

Yep

If you plan on putting them on your resume, they are always open for being contacted.

And if you think you will just leave them off, then that raises even more questions with potential employers

I would give them whatever the new job will allow. If it's 2 weeks, work 2 weeks.
