I have a mil spec Springfield arms 1911 that was 600 plus tax. Nice entry level 1911 in my opinion.

Yeah, I saw the Para at Academy, and I've seen the RIA, Canik and Tisas, which got me thinking about budget 1911s. I've always assumed I couldn't afford one. RIA seems to get the best reviews of those ultra cheap ones.
