Why just 2009? Because Peyton Manning led that team, that was not loaded with talent and coached by Jim Caldwell, to a 14-0 record, and eventually the Super Bowl.

OH, I gotcha. I didn't know you were talking about a specific year. I skimmed the post. My apologies.

Nonetheless, Peyton was surrounded by some of the best talent in the NFL for many other seasons before 2009, so I would be careful to say Brady was always surrounded by a bunch of Monstars and Peyton always had to deal with scraps.

Hey, there is definitely room to debate. Both Brady and Manning have had years with elite talent surrounding them, and years where it was the qb shouldering all the heavy lifting.

I got off to a bad start this morning because when I hopped in my truck Chris Carter was mocking Manning's playoff record. Someone remind me, how many Super Bowls did Carter play in?
