Off peak prices from Nola are 16,250 avios + $145 in fees on the MSY-LHR direct. This is definitely the way to get to LHR these days. You could use your companion pass at least for that. I'd return from Dublin since that has the lowest fees in Europe and a $17 flight from LGW. Remind me, is the BA companion pass valid on Aer Lingus flights? If yes, then that sweetens the deal. MSY-LHR, DUB/SHN-BOS. You'd just have to buy your way back from BOS.

The only reason that makes the companion pass even a question. It has to be used on BA metal, and it has to originate in US. Pretty much requiring you to connect in LHR amd pay the fees.
E.g I believe the first class fees for ORD or DCA to LHR are like $1600 per ticket. So $3200 for 2 tickets plus the miles. Not a bang up value.
