Your post reminds me of a trip a cousin and I made down the River close to Buras.
We would cross the River and go thru Ostrica Lock to get to his camp down a deadend canal near the River. WE fished Bay Denesse, Raccoon Pt, Quarantine Bay.
This particular weekend we left NOLa Friday morning, fished that evening, Saturday and Sunday morning. Cleaned all the fish at the camp.
Sunday, as we were pulling the boat out, we saw what looked like a W&F boat coming upriver. Guy had on not just green jeans, but a green jacket.
My cousin took the icechest full of fish out of the boat and put it down beside the boat ramp on the other side of the boat from the suspected agent. We finished getting the boat ready and messed around the boat and truck, looking busy.
Luckily the dude just zoomed by not even looking our way. He wasn't in a W&F boat either. If he had been and stopped, we had no idea who that ice chest belonged too. We snatched it up and threw it in the boat. He stored his boat at a shed at Empire so we weren't too worried about having the fish in his truck and not pulling a boat from that point.
Kinda scary, it could have gotten ugly!

"An individual
must not have more than 2 pounds
of finfish parts per person in state waters,
or more than 1.5 pounds of finfish parts per
person in federal waters, on board the vessel,
provided that the vessel is equipped to
cook finfish and that the finfish does not
exceed applicable bag limits."
Yup, REAL UGLY RIP, Keith
