We have 1700 acres and so far this year have killed 8 does and 4 bucks. 8 point or better club. We average around 18 to 20 deer a year. One of the state biologists are in our club and we aim for a 2:1 doe to buck ratio.

gotcha, yeah we're 8 point or better or 4 years old.

I seem to remember that we are going by some rule of thumb for every ## of acres you wanted to kill so many does. Cant remember what that was. Anyway, we fell way short of that 2:1 ratio last year thats for sure.

Across the road from us is part of the Cahaba Management Area. Its tough hunting, up and down terrain with the hardwoods in the draws and bottoms and pines everywhere else. I hunt the old logging roads between the plots and pines and bottoms. Glassed a couple decent bucks this year, but only shot two does.
