Kinda what I was thinking. I used to duck hunt off Garyville Canal. That camp was FULL of deer hunters. Like every morning, we'd be the only people leaving to go out duck hunting in what was, at the time, the greatest duck hole in the state (mid 80's/pre salvania).
A good year for the deer guys at that camp was MAYBE 10 deer all year.
Swamp's are freakin hard to hunt. Kudo's to dude for putting boat in the water, finding some swamp deer, and shooting them.
Personally, I wouldn't shoot that up here in Monroe (I mean the spike), but where I grew up, around LaPlace/Lutcher/Reserve/Garyville, I'd have shot ANY deer, and probably any time of year to boot back on those days.
