Good stuff, LSURussian.

If it's that easy, then it seems like a no-brainer for the city to try and do that. And wouldn't that be a game-changer in terms of the financial impact that St. George would have on the city of BR?

I'm sure it would be a severe blow to the new city's finances. One article in the paper said 30% of ALL the local sales taxes collected in EBR comes from just the Mall of LA.

There is no way BR allows that revenue to walk away.

Of course, Bodi White disagrees.

What people do not tell you about Central is.
1. EBRPSS put old furniture in the schools before they sold them to Central.
2. They gave them rundown buildings that needed improvement even though the school board told the voters of Central when they were with the school system that they would get new schools if they voted for the school property tax increase.
3. The first year Central should have received the property taxes EBRPSS held those taxes and took it to court where they won a decision to keep the taxes.
4. Some of the zip codes are split inside Central and the unincorporated part of EBRP. The post office will not change the zip codes. Central always has to fight the EBRP Metro Council for their taxes.

For a Metro Council that should represent everyone in this Parish it seems like they screw towns and unincorporated areas more than anything.

Most schools will improve with community involvement. Right now the community and majority of the parents are not involved in the EBRPSS. You can thank the liberals and Judge John Parker. Think how much a school system can save without having all the buses on the road. I grew up and had to go through the bus mess where you had 4 buses for elementary, 4 buses for middle school, and 4 buses for high school go down my street two blocks from neighborhood schools.

Seems to me the crooks are EBRP Metro Council and EBRPSS.

As far as quality of schools some communities that have neighborhood schools have advanced classes, normal classes, and remedial classes.
