F. Tarkenton. 57% Comp/ 343 TD/266 INT.
B. Griese. 57% Comp/ 192 TD/ 172 INT.
R. Staubach. 57% Comp/ 153 TD/ 109 INT.
B. Jones. (Just because he was my Idol) 56% Comp/ 124 TD/ 101 INT.
Bradshaw could only wish to sniff their jock straps. Real QBS.

Because other QBs were better, doesn't make Bradshaw "shite". I'm not really a fan of Bradshaw, but when people start throwing out stats with out context, it drives me bats. The rules and offenses have changed so much, stats looks much worse.
ETA: I also hate when people use the "rings" argument. Several QBs from that era could have won 4 rings with that team. Starting with Jones.

And keep in mind this was a different era. Football players weren't making massive amounts of money. So Phil was probably… eh f' this football junk.

I'm mean its not like he played when the rules and offenses were very different or anything. The ignorance of some people of things before they were born is staggerin
These Duck Dynasty idiots will be on here soon saying Robertson could have been just as good as Johnny Unitas before too long.
Unitas is arguably the Greatest QB of all time & is basically paved the way for modern Qb
United stats in 17 seasons.
54% career passing 290 TD's & 253 ints.
Bradshaw nor Unitas had the benefit of modern rules to help mediocre Quarterbacks like Matt Stafford( & half a dozen others) throw for 5,000 yards.
1)Receivers could be bumped ANYWHERE on the field before 79. No 5 yard no contact rule.
2) Lineman weren't allowed to extend their arms & literally hold the jersey of defensive linemen (just keep hands inside shoulders)
3)Qb's couldn't' just spike the ball & get a do over just to avoid a sack.
These are just 3 examples.
The rules since 1979 are so different ,but these idiots are basing it upon inflated post 78/79 stats.
The NFL has done everything in its powers to assist NFL offenses & Qb's & the numbers are obvious.

I've dealt with Bert multiple times and he's arse. Lost all respect for the man after having to interact with him.

when i heard he played in front Bradshaw, I just assumed it was because he was older. Outside of his family and friends, I don't know why anyone would care if he was better or not.

The NFL has bent over backwards to assist Quarterbacks/offenses since the era when Unitas(greatest ever perhaps) threw 54% percentage for his career.
Theses guys probably think Matt Stafford is greater than Unitas according to stats.
Go back to pre 1978 NFL passing rules & see the passing numbers begin to plummet , playcalling completely change & these fragile Quarterbacks stay on injured reserve.
As someone who absolutely hates the modern rules to help passing(looks like 7 on 7 drills out there sometimes ) it annoys me when kids judge past qb's by modern standards.
They believe it's some offensive genius & great players making all the difference. Absurd.

The rules changes is the biggest factor, but offenses are much better and more sophisticated today. That was already changing. Bill Walsh and Paul Brown started the WCO in Cincinnati in the early 70's.
