My question is. Clarett was inelighle to play for OSU. It wasn't a NCAA penalty. It was a OSU self imposed penalty.

Ok jump to the part where the courts denied him entrance to the NFL draft. At that point, why would Clarett not try to get onto a major college program? He had already sat out a year fighting the process, This is the part I need help understanding.

I wish they would have gone into more detail about the car he got from tressels guy and that whole ordeal. That's what started the whole downfall. The AD was a huge dickhead IMO, but Clarett didn't do anything to help that situation either.

He obviously made some really bad decisions, but glad to see he's on a good track at the moment

Alright I read up a little before responding. He officially declared. You are not allowed to play college sports again once you have declared. That is what I thought in the first comment I made but I was not positive. He made a knee-jerk reaction to enter the draft after being removed and fought through the process we all know failed. That made him ineligible. I believe it would have been hard from him to transfer, but he definitely could have done a Cam Newton JUCO thing.
