Can I freeze rice or potato salad? If so, how

Just froze all of the gumbo. Will rice or potato salad be good thawed.

I don't care for frozen rice. However, you can freeze it in vac sealed bags. That would be the best way.

I don't think potato salad would be good frozen. I figure if that were the case, it would be sold frozen in the grocery stores.

I have never had good luck freezing potatoes. Once thawed, they fall apart and get mealy.

I'm not a fan of frozen rice. Rice is cheap enough and quick to cook to just prepare before eating.

Just cook more rice when you thaw out your gumbo. Rice is cheap.



Fwiw I've never frozen plain white rice

Neither will be good, the rice and potatoes will go to mush mostly as the ice crystals will break their structure apart.

Don't freeze the potato salad-will not end well. Rice can be frozen but fresh cooked rice is so much better and it's not like rice is expensive.
