You voluntarily stated it was a gift? Go to Academy, pick the one you want, fill out paperwork, keep your mouth shut. It's not that difficult unless you just HAVE to tell someone it's a gift. The store has no way of knowing if the person you're giving it to is a felon. If that person is a felon, then it would be a straw purchase.

Gifting a firearm is perfectly LEGAL. This is one of my problems with Herbert guns. They did this same shite to me first hand with my wife present. I fricking went ape shite in there telling them they were wrong. I won the argument and will do my damn finest to get everyone to never spend another dime in that place. If you sell firearms you need to know the fricking rules.
