There has NEVER been an LSU player with more grit and heart than Hester. Look at the 2007 FLA game and get back to me... I like Magee,,, but.........
Hester is one of my favorite Tigers ever. True leader and gritty as hell. Just not that talented.

Which makes his determination that much more important. The way he ran down the Bama guy in 2007 was a moment in LSU history that should NOT be forgotten. Is Hill more of a PURE talent?? Sure. But I wish he RAN like Hester. How good could he be.

that stacks up with a ton of elite level RBs. He was certainly a viable SEC RB

Not that talented, huh. he played how many years of NFL football?
I guess it is all about how you define talent. He is not as physically gifted as many running backs from a size and speed point of view. But he was incredibly powerful, determined, and had great football sense (which is among the most important talents for a football player). He was pretty fast, as evidenced by several long runs against great SEC defenses, and he had great hands out of the backfield.
If you could run the numbers, he was surely in the top 0.1 percentile for football talent among all people that played football during his entire playing career.
