re: Is Michigan State a lock for the Rose bowl

Spartantailgate/Red Cedar Message Board posters have been saying mostly lock since last night, partly because of Brad Edwards and Jerry Palm's projections. MSU needs a weird sweet spot if they lose IMO. A close loss could sort of screw them if Auburn somehow jumps OSU, but I think they still would get an Orange Bowl or something. On the other hand, I don't think they want to flirt with what a 35-10 loss would do to them. A 10 point loss that is definitive for OSU, but respectable for MSU gets them to Pasadena. But, again, YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME!
